Che T-Shirts

Hello again! I finally was able to do some photographin' of some of this semester's work! This entry is dedicated to our first project in design class this semester: designing three t-shirts using the iconic Che Guevara.

And here's some of the thinking that went into it:

The iconic Che Guevara image appears printed internationally, on all sorts of media and objects. It has become a symbol, yet many people wear or display it without understanding its real meaning or significance. My three designs all address the image’s new meanings: one reacts to the fact that some simply see Che as an attractive and desirable man, one parodies election advertisements and material while playing on Che’s drive for change, and one comments on the fact that the image has been mass-produced with only the intent to profit.
